| You may be one of those people that needs to immediately start moving up the rungs to continue weight loss. In the past, have you tried to stay on induction for more than the first two weeks? This can cause stalls in a lot of people, and sometimes the cure is to move up the rungs and add more carbs, it jumpstarts your body. and it isn't sickening that you are at 199 pounds, there is nothing sickening about people being overweight-- it's simply unhealthy. When your goal becomes primarily health, and not looks, you will be more likely to succeed. |

| In the first days you lose water weight. After the water goes away, your weight loss (obviously) slows down because the main thing you are losing is fat. So between losing 2 lbs of water in one day and losing 0.5 lbs of fat in two days, I think the latter is better. Beside this, from what you are saying I understand you did not complete the induction because you got discouraged by the slow loss. If the number on the scale affects you so much, you should only weigh at the end of the two weeks and not daily. Personally, I weigh every morning and this works better for me than staying away from the scale for a week or so, but this really depends on every person. If you get discouraged -- and you do, since you went off track not even for gaining some pounds (which will happen at times no matter how amazingly you eat and exercise), but only for losing less in 2-3 days than you did in the first few -- set a day as your weigh in day and avoid the scale the rest of the week. Post *your* menu. Are you eating the same foods everyday? Are you sure you are following the rules of induction to the "T"? Are you exercising? Drinking enough water? Eating Atkins bars/shakes? I don't see how this could help you unless you decide to eat the same stuff everyday (which is the path to failure in my opinion), but here is a menu I had during my induction: Breakfast: 1/2 cup chopped pepper (red, yellow, green) + 1/2 cup cucumber w/ olive oil and red wine vinegar 2 oz camembert 6 oz coffee w/ 1 tbsp cream Lunch: 4 oz turkey, with 1 tbsp mayo 1 cup mushroom salad (contains 1 tbsp mayo and 1 tbsp sour cream... some spices and parsley, but these are in negligible quantities) Dinner: 5-6 oz steamed fish 1 cup cauliflower w/ butter 1 oz cheddar Water: about 130 oz And if you didn't do that already, read the book. Good luck with a clean, 2-week long, induction... and stay away from the damn scale!
