| I have just started and am in the Uk as well. It is horrible when you hear people losing loads in the first few days, but give it time. Check your carb intake and watch out for hidden carbs, like those in ham or soft cheese. I have found a great treat if you are craving sweet things. make scrambled eggs with a bit of splenda (cheat sugar) and sprinkle with cinnamon. I have been on it for 3 weeks now and have lost 6 pounds but it took 47 years to get my size so I think it may take a little while to lose it !! It doesn't help when the weather is so crap ! Good luck, if I can do it so can you Sciran

| Would you mind posting a typical induction day meal plan for you? Sometimes you are consuming things that aren't induction friendly and don't even realize it. Also, be patient with your body.. your first time doing atkins did you start off exercising right from the start like this time? It's great you are exercising so keep up with it. Sometimes when we first begin to build muscle our bodies retain fluid while it readjusts. Also, you can be building muscle which will weigh more. Make sure you drink all your W A T E R... it will help you flush all the toxins out that the induction is burning. For me, I have to watch that I don't over do the water because I hit this plateau that I actually start to retain it if I "overdrink". I hope this helps somewhat. Post a days worth of meals so we can see if maybe you just need to tweak. You would be surprised at the hidden carbs in foods. Be patient, YOU CAN GET GREAT RESULTS from this woe! Trisan

| And how much are you trying to lose? If you don't have that much to lose then you probably won't lose a lot during induction. I agree, please post a typical menu and let us see what you've been eating. Maybe someone here can give you a tip about something you're missing. Are you eating enough fat? I know it feels wrong but you do need to get in enough. I can get stuck if I'm not eating enough fat. If you've got a lot to lose and are doing everything right it may just be that you're resistant, in which case Dr Atkins has a great part of the book just for you. Why don't you give it a read and see if it sounds like you? Good luck and don't give up! You can do it! |

| Are you using fitday to count up your quantities. I worry about a couple of things there. * It seems like you are eating a lot of protein but not a lot fat. Fat is the key to success on induction (and you are not listing adding fats anywhere). If you use fitday it would tell you. Excess of protein will turn into sugar for you. *So the rule is 2 cups from the salad list one from the other list. Are you doing that? (I am not sure what is in your salad) *And how much splenda do you use? It can be a problem. There is a limit of three sweeteners but sweeteners may not agree with you and you have to cut them out on induction. *Ketchup is not allowed - it has sugar *Caffeine can be a problem for some. Caffeine in your tea? *Lastly I don't know how big your cups is but I would say drink more water. Water with your breakfast and water with your lunch (before the tea)

Watch out for carb content in ketchup and mayo too. Ketchup might have sugar in it too. A big no-no. Also you really need to be eating some veggies, this really isn't a well balanced menu. ![]() My suggestion would be to sign up to FitDay and add the products you eat as custom foods. Measure the quantities of each that you eat. I would be amazed if you weren't consuming way too many carbs with all that processed meat. |
