Default What food can you pick up on the go?

I have an aerobics class I like to attend right after work, but I'm hungry since some of my lunch spoiled.

I'd like to pick something really quick up at the grocery store as some fuel to help me through my workout class... what is something I can pick up (grocery store/fast food) as a snack? Something not too heavy and salty, but will help me through before dinner?

I usually grab some cheese or celery and ranch dip (some stores even sell individual portions) as a yummy pick me up during the day.

A slice or two of cheese plus a sweet red pepper? I find them sweet enough to eat like an apple nowadays

Can you hit up a grocery store with a salad bar? Raw cauliflower, cukes, peppers, hard cooked eggs, dressing..... sometimes our StopnShop also has cooked chicken strips on there. Get "finger food" sized pieces if you can't stop to eat with utensils

Yeah, but YIKES... they want $1.50 for 2 eggs here... I can buy a dozen for less than that and keep them in the fridge already hard boiled.... just take them with me for after the class.

Default Re: What food can you pick up on the go?

when i have to I stop at burger king and order a whopper w/o kethup/bun and extra lettuce/onion/tomato. I put on a bit of extra mayo and eat it with a fork. even with the extra veggies it's only 3-4 carbs... I dismantled one of my sandwhiches and weighed out the ingredients on my scale. I know its not something that you can eat on the run, but it is quick.
