Creme Fraiche??? Is it allowed?

Hi

Having sat here and had the wonderful idea to do chicken, bacon and sauteed leeks in a creme fraiche and stilton sauce later.... I can't find anywhere in the book if I can actually have that.

Is creme fraiche allowed??

It's essentially sour cream. So it's allowed.

Ooh, can you make some for me? I've never even heard of that but it sounds absolutely wonderful! I am going to look it up on the internet to see if I can find a recipee.

im eating it with pretty much everything. My favorite is to mix it with garlic, chives and dill. fantastic for meat dishes!

Do watch your quantites when using cream, either ordinary cream or sour cream.

Cream is mentioned 3 times in the allowed foods list

Salad Garnishes
crumbled crisp bacon
grated cheese
minced hard-boiled egg
sauteed mushrooms
sour cream

I assume as a 'garnish' this should be a spoonful or so at the most

cream (heavy or light); limit to two to three tablespoons a day; note carbohydrate content

Special Category Foods
To add variety, each day you can also eat ten to twenty olives, half a small avocado, one ounce of sour cream or three ounces of unsweetened heavy cream, as well as two to three tablespoons of lemon juice or lime juice. so stick to the limits and be prepared to drop some of it if you feel it is inhibiting your weightloss
