| Caffeine destabilizes blood sugar levels, so it might induce cravings. Moreover, it is a staller for some people. I'm pretty sure there is aspirin without caffeine... I just checked the ingredients in mine and there's no caffeine. Google tells me there may be approximately 64 mg of caffeine added to 800 mg of aspirin. That is about the amount you find in 4 oz coffee (drip). Whether this will affect your weight loss or not, there is not a 'yes' or 'no' answer to this. It really depends on the person... like, I can drink coffee without getting cravings or slowing down my weight loss, but others stall from one cup a day or go on a binge. If the headache is the induction flu headache, the book says you can add another cup of veggies... so that you eat 4 instead of 3 cups a day.

| The caffeine in the aspirin is not going to "mess" with your weight loss. Caffeine is a known headache remedy. I'm assuming you will only take the aspirin until the headache subsides?? Dr. Atkins had to write the diet for the masses, thus, one-size-fits-all advice. Caffeine does cause some people to have a sugar spike and cravings. Many more people probably do not. I've done Atkins both ways, and I do better with a moderate amount of caffeine from my two cups of coffee and one pot of green tea made with two tea bags. I do believe everyone should do induction without the caffeine until you know if you are one of the people that caffeine causes blood-sugar fluctuations and cravings. I believe that everyone should do induction exactly as written so you can weed out any problem foods or drinks. You can never go back and do a completely clean induction if you don't do it right from the first. Keeping certain items in your induction foods/drinks list and only trying to figure out which one is causing problems on day 10 will mess you up even more. You will do fine if you just continue with a clean induction or OWL. Sunny!
