| Congrats on your loss so far! If you read the book (DANDR 2002), it is actually really important that you get as close to 20 carbs a day, as long as they come from fresh veggies that come from the acceptable foods list. PLEASE don't be one of the people who don't read the book and try to do your own version of Atkins. That's when this diet becomes dangerous. |

| I think it is important to eat the veggies - maybe make sure you eat your veg first and finish with the meat so if you leave anything it is the meat. Remember we are supposed to get 'most' of our carbs on induction from our veggies, so if you are not eating many then you should be restricting the amount of cheese, cream, eggs and sweeteners you are having to comply with this rule. We are only allowed up to 3 cups of our veg on induction, which if you measure it out isn't really a huge amount. I struggled to eat only 3 cups and was relieved when I finally moved to OWL and could add more. Also perhaps choose veg with more nutrition than just plain lettuce too, so whatever amount you are eating is doing you good.
