| X 2 on the cheese and pepperoni. I also make my own beef jerky by putting adobo seasoning, soy sauce and hot sauce on thin strips of london broil and dehydrating it. You can also put it in the oven on racks at 200 for a couple of hours if you don't have a dehydrator. Dehydrators are good investments though. They only cost $30-$40. When I went out to sea for deployments I usually did up about 5 pounds and always had something to snack on. Be careful with pepperoni because some brands use a lot of phosphates and sugar. Basically, if you are going to be away from home for awhile, make sure your last meal at home is high in fat to keep you sustained for a long time. Something with fiber followed by water will also keep you sustained for awhile. Plan well ahead and succeed. T. J.

| I am going to a party Friday and know there will be a lot of tempting things around. So I am planning to take some legal chicken tenders in a zip lock in my purse. If things get too tempting, I'll just slip off somewhere and indulge in my legal snack. But Everlosing, you gave me some great ideas of what else I can put in my "to go" box! Thanks. |
