| Don't think so. I take 100mg a day. Started on Atkins 2/6/09 and have lost 13 pounds as of this morning. My goal is a total of 40 pounds so that's roughly 30% of my goal. Good luck. My only recommendation is stick strictly to the induction rules. I'm determined to get to my proper weight and hopefully get off meds like this. |

| I take Atenolol as well, 50mg. I think it could depend on the person. Beta blockers will not only bring down your blood pressure but also your heart rate, slowing down your metabolism. I think everybody's body is different, from a few articles I have read it is a mixed bag of reviews as to whether or not a beta blocker will slow your weight loss. For me, I can't exercise without it because my heart rate just gets way too fast too easily, so if I want to exercise to help lose weight I have to take it. Whatever you do never discontinue medication without discussing it with your doctor first. |
