Missy, I found my worst days in the beginning were those when I was not eating enough vegetables. You really must have those veggie carbs. I found that eating the 1/2 c. of pumpkin that we are allowed on induction would immediately put an end to those symptoms of weakness. I'm guessing that you are not eating enough or are not eating enough vegetables. Could you post a daily menu so we can get an idea of what you are eating? Also, if you have been drinking apple and orange juice, you are not on Atkins, and another induction would be necessary to get you restarted. Have you read the book... and checked out the FAQ's. You really can't do Atkins without that knowledge. It's a tried and true method that works, but you must follow the guidelines.

Have you read the book? I can't see how you can have low blood sugar unless you are eating sugar if you see what I mean. It is eating sugar or foods high in sugar that cause you to get low blood sugar as a result. Dr. Atkins explains it all in the book. It is an eye opener.

I agree with Sunny One, you really do need to be eating those veggies and balancing the carbs in the veggies with a decent amount of fat. I have suffered hypoglycemia all my life and the only thing that has cured it has been the low carb lifestyle--try eating a half an avocado, or some cream cheese along with your veggies, add a boiled egg, etc. it will work. Oh, and make sure you keep your water level up as well. It should dissipate.

I do not eat sugar, and was doing proper induction along with my veggies by the book. Luckly it only happened to me once, and hasn't happened since. I'm still going to see my dr. and have bloodwork just to be sure. I'd recommend definately seeing your Dr. to ensure there is nothing medically wrong.

Yes I have the book and have done Atkins successfully in the past. It's the only WOE that has ever worked for me. I know I'm not on it if I'm drinking fruit juice and I need to do another induction but I can't do it if I'm trembling or fainting. I'll see what hte dr. says and start another induction next week. Thanks for the help! Missy

| I have had low blood sugar for most of my life. For years I have had full blood work done every 90 days for another health problem. My blood sugar was always in the 60's and the highest it ever was was 72 once, right before I started Atkins. Since I have been doing Atkins correctly, my blood sugar is measuring a healthy 82 and once it was 91. I never have low blood sugar episodes any more. It sounds as though you need to take induction a little slowly. Maybe eat more meals per day and eat more veggie carbs. After you check with your doctor, that is.
