I went out and had some wine

Hi... I did have an offer to go out with a nice man from my gym.... we were at the gym's grand opening and he won a gift certificate to ruby tuesdays and he asked if i wanted to go get a beer with him.. he also invited his friend as well... who arrived much later .. so we had some time to talk.. I had two glasses of white zinfindel... before I went to the open house.. I hate a heavy fat and protein lunch... so I was full .. I knew there was going to be food... so I had the wine... enjoyed the company... the friend showed up and then he left.. anyway.. i was starving when I got home.. ate a sauted burger with veggies... late... went to bed and woke up 1.5 lbs lighter.... go figure... anyway... I really didn't like the wine.. I did at the time...but in the middle of the night.. my stomach was queasy.... and I didn't sleep well... but I still had a great time... Lia

You're a tougher girl than I am!! How did you handle 2 glasses of wine?? I drank a small glass of white wine on V-day and found that I'm a super cheap drunk on Atkins. I poured another half glass that I didn't even touch before I passed out on the couch....and you weigh MUCH less than me!! I'm glad you got to know the guy. That's nice you got to spend some time with him before the friend showed up. You're soooooooo lucky to be down 1.5 pounds!! Take it! Enjoy it! Sometimes some new spice in your life can really motivate and inspire you, even propel you forward. Keep us informed. Tell him you really deviated from your WOE when you guys went out and he'll have to help you out with some personal training...at least 3 or 4 times this week. Nothing's sexier than working out hard...together!

Actually the problem with alcohol is only that it burns off before fat burns off so while you most-likely only set back your weight loss, but you didn't sabotage it.

You weigh less because you are dehydrated. Alcohol is a diuretic and let's your body pass a lot more water then it normally would. The problem now is your body says wow, I am dehydrated and then will hold onto as much water as possible until satisfied. So, the day after drinking you will weigh less then normal, but the second day after you will see the results. Alcohol is a no no on this diet. believe me, I tried every possible way to get wasted on the weekends. It kept me in a huge stall.

hi..all.. I forgot to mention... that wine made me really go to the bathroom... not just to urinate.. the other department... in the middle of the night.. then again in the am... well... hey... it still felt great.. and I have not had wine or beer in over a year... LIa

Well, since the suspense is over as to what to do if he asked you out, did you like him enough to do it again?

Since you are so close to goal, I don't think the wine will cause much harm (keep in mind I have never tasted alcohol, so I don't know what I am talking about). You should be exploring pre-maintenance about now.
