| I don't think it is the protein. I think your exercise routine is causing you to release ketones in your breath. Besides urine, we release ketones in sweat and exhaled breathing. This is why the Ketostix might show a lighter color after strenuous exercise. You have burned a lot of ketones for energy and the byproducts leave the body in urine, sweat and your breath. You might need to drink a lot more water since you exercise so much. Dehydration is another big reason for bad breath. If you have a dry mouth, saliva can't kill the bacteria in your mouth.

| Hiya! Thanks for responding. i dont think ketones are to blame a) because when i was in my deepest ketosis in the beginning I had no breath issues and b) my significant claims she cannot smell anything when i breathe through my nose. |

| try acidofolis pills... this worked for me.. it is like the good live bacteria found in yogurt but in capsil form... try to get the ones that are refrigerated as this keeps the bacteria alive longer.
