Default Losing the last 15-- HELP!!

Ok so I need everyone's help here. I started Atkins on November 10, 2008 and so far I have lost 37 pounds. I weigh 163 pounds and my goal weight for right now at least is 150. I am having the hardest time losing the last 15 pounds!! It is going really really slowly. I exercise 5 times per week. I do not cheat or anything like that, but I'm only losing like 1 pound per week now. Is that normal??? I lost the first 25 pounds really quickly and now everything is slowed down. I'm wondering if I am eating too much fruit and that is stalling me or something. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

What you are experiencing is normal. In fact, we are supposed to lose those last few pounds slowly, while we're learning to eat this way for life. My suggestion would be to stop getting on the scale and live your life. The pounds will come off when they are ready. I think a pound a week for as little as you have left to lose is great!

IndianaGirl, congratulations on the 37 pound loss! That's wonderful!!!

And yes, it is very normal to slow down the closer you get to your goal. From my perspective, 1 pound a week is fantastic!

I assume that you are on OWL since you said you are eating fruit. Are you eating mostly berries and other low-glycemic fruit?

I'm eating strawberries, apples, and a few times a week I'm eating a few grapes at a time. I am just getting really burnt out on eating celery sticks, broccoli and ranch, cauliflower etc! It's so hard to make myself eat my veggies even though I do. Any suggestions of other veggies I can try? I feel like on this diet even though there are so many things you can eat-- I'm completely burnt out on some things already (tuna, chicken, salmon, salads etc) because I ate them so religiously the first 2 months. Now I'm 4 months in and going crazy! Thanks for the support

There may be nothing wrong at all as you are losing weight at a rate of a pound a week when you have about 15 pounds left to go. This equates to losing about 6 percent of your remaining hoped-for loss each week which is good progress

Are you measuring? Are your clothes getting baggier?

As chicklady said, the last 10 pounds or so are supposed to go slowly - Dr Atkins said 'almost imperceptively' when talking about the rate of losing in the third phase of Atkins.

Did you follow the OWL order of adding new foods in 5 net carb increments a week at a time and watch how your body reacted??

If you are adding the higher rung foods randomly you might be jumping to too many carbs or adding foods that affect you adversely without giving yourself the chance to test what is happening to your body.

Here is an idea for a new veggie.

http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...y-picture.html (Hash-browned Zucchini(Induction friendly with picture))

I found this last night in the forum for main dish recipes. Looked so good, I went out to the store just to buy the zucchini to make them for dinner and they were delicious! I love zucchini, but they didn't taste quite like zucchini...they were so good I couldn't believe it.

Anyway, check out the recipes forum for more veggie ideas. I've seen a few others that I will be trying!

Good luck with last 15....you will get there!

I love eggplant slices roasted and then rolled up with ricotta and parmesan inside and topped with some tomato sauce and cheese. Bake for 20 mins and it is just as good as lasagna.
