Thanks to all for this thread......first two weeks, - 7 lbs.. now three weeks into a stall. But, regardless of what the scale suggests, I know my pants fit better and I have more energy. Nice to see others face similar issues. So now...i'll just keep an eye out for the big "whoosh"

Yep, hang in there and focus on doing things right. The whoosh will follow, although when is the whooshy fairy's guess.

I feel the same. Last time around I was stuck at 178 for about 2 months, and then whoooosh, I was down to 170, and then again stuck at 162. I believe in the whoosh fairy

I agree with china about the set point thing. Last time I was stuck at 194 for what seemed like an eternity (in reality I think it was about three weeks). And I remember thats about what I weighed for a year or so back before I gained the rest of it. The only thing that kicked me of 194 was that I got ungodly sick with strep, 103 fever, etc etc. I dropped 10 lbs in 2 days because I couldn't eat, I went to the see my doc (whos name was dr. pepper, haha!) and she said I either had to eat or she was going to IV me. So she gave me darvacet for my throat, and being all hopped up on drugs, what did I do? I ate McDonalds! I distinctly remember that! That was probably the beginning of the end, because I only ever lost 4 more lbs before I began to gain it all back again.
Story time over, I do expect to hit spots like that on my way down, but I'll just experiment. I'll kick the work outs up a notch, or i'll switch up my foods, or cut out something I think is holding me back. Something will work!

Is it anywhere near that 'time of the month' for you? Many of our members gain weight around that time, so it would be a normal occurrance that you really can do nothing about but stay on plan till your body decides to restart losing pounds

Also being constipated might mean you have some weight sitting there (not that i would dream of saying you were 'full of @@@@' )

The problem with planning to lose xx pounds by xx/xx/xxxx is that your body might have other ideas. You will only be 'screwed' if you choose to let it be so

So maybe make a few new goals like staying on plan with your eating, getting 'most' of your carbs from your veggies, adding exercise if you are not already doing so etc. Goals that you can have control over by your own actions are much more sensible I think that ones that your body will decide without your choice

Asking this question on this thread too!

So theoretically, if a woman doesn't cheat and gains a pound but loses an inch one week, she can still move up the carb ladder the next week? Is that correct?

My mother is on the plan now, and I really want her to do this ONE time!

well all I know is you can not lose weight for like a week or more then one day weigh and like 10 pounds are gone..i know i know..wtf? lol....It happened to me too...I panicked...just be rest assured that if your going by the book it is going to work. I admit some people are blessed with the ability to lose more quicker than other..but hey..we already know life isnt fair.

but the good thing is this: whose gonna be skinny soon? hmmm? hmmm?? YOU ARE!!!
