| Hi ANewMeFl -- it sounds like you have Atkins flu...it will pass in a couple days and you'll feel wonderful. Since you are having trouble coming up with things to eat you might want to check out Linda's recipe site Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Daily Menus for induction food or go to the Low Carb Menu area under the forum link above Low Carb Menus - Atkins Diet, or this one Main Dishes - Atkins Diet. Your veggies are very important so you need to try and figure out a way to get all of them in each day. Also, don't forget to drink at least 64oz of water each day. Good luck on your journey

| There are a bunch of salad veggies besides lettuce. Cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers, celery--all of these and more can be the 2 cups of salad veggies and then you can eat the other cup of veggies off the other list. You can also wilt the lettuce so it is only a couple of bites. You can also wrap a burger or sliced meat in lettuce leaves instead of having it as salad.

| Also don't forget that you can have some great full fat dressings on that lettuce now as well. I'm personally a fan of caesar dressing. Just watch for carbs especially added sugar! And to Sunny's point, not only can you wrap a burger, but you can also make "sandwiches" with lettuce. For example, I will take a romaine leaf and put mayo, cheese, ham and turkey slices and maybe bacon and top it with another lettuce leaf. I haven't done this for ever but I just remembered...romaine leaves make great little boats for tuna or chicken salad. Mmmm...maybe that's what I'll have for lunch tomorrow.

Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again. |

| Don't forget the jicama! That's a yummy 'salad' vegetable! Also celery with cream cheese (I get the cream cheese with chives from trader joes) I know what you mean about the lettuce. I like using lettuce for 'bread' to wrap up the meats and cheeses with or tuna, or chicken salad, or hamburger with cheese. It's a good way to get your veggies in. liz |

| I am a grazer. I am a celery addict. People that know me know that this is no understatement. I can easily eat 1/2 to 1 pound of celery a day. I eat it all day long. It keeps me feeling on an even keel as I feel out of sorts if it is too long between meals for me. Best of luck!

| when i'm sick of lettuce I make a salad of romaine leaves or spinach cause for some reason those are less "lettucey" in my head. Then I cook 3 slices of bacon (jalapeno bacon from HEB if you're in tx. MMMMM) then chop it up and add it to the salad. Then I pour the bacon grease over the salad to wilt it a little. It adds a lot of flavor and it doesnt feel so much like i'm eating rabbit food.

| I don't know where in Florida you are, but if you have a Sam's club near you (and have a membership??), they have this awesome huge tub of spring mix. I hate iceberg lettuce and I'm nearly over romaine, but I can't get tired of this! It has 2g carbs (3 total - 1 net) in 3 cups, and it's delicious! I use a great ranch dressing over it with bacon bits and sometimes a bit of grated parmesan. Also, you absolutely get your money's worth - it's really cheap (like $5 maybe?) and it's a veritable cornucopia... I keep pulling some out for my salads and it hardly makes a dent!
