| once in a while i'll have chai tea with cream and splenda. Same as akader, I drink it in the evening to help me sleep, although lately I haven't been needing it. I'd think as long as it isn't chock full of caffeine or sugar or some other naughty thing that it would be ok.

| I've been drinking a slimming tea that I got at safeway. Has kind of a licorice taste. It's a herbal tea. Quite good. It seems to have a laxative effect which is why it's called "slimming tea"

Weight loss teas that act as diuretics can be bad for you, especially when following Atkins. Atkins has a diuretic effect anyway, and adding this to the one caused by a tea may lead to dehydration and mineral imbalances. Tea is allowed on Atkins, but you should make sure it doesn't contain caffeine (can trigger cravings) or other "illegal" ingredients. Also, you should not count tea towards your water intake. Other than that, it is your decision what tea you drink.

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"
