Default Does the atkins diet really work?

Before I start anything to drastic, I need to know if the atkins diet really works.

If it does, what is a simple meal plan I can stick to everyday for two weeks?

Thanks

I think it works. I lost over 120 pounds in a year and after nearly four years, I still love eating this way.

If you are just planning on making it a two week diet, it might not work for you. Having someone else provide a simple meal plan that you can eat for two weeks doesn't do a whole lot towards you learning how it works, why it works and what makes it work. Before you engage in anything you consider "drastic" you should do all you can to learn as much as possible before you start. You only get one chance to do an absolutely clean 14 day induction. If you start without knowing what you can and cannot eat and drink on induction, by the time you make corrections, you will have messed up the results of your losses for the 14 days of induction.

there are plenty of us who believe this plan works and we are living examples that this is a lifeplan, not just a quick fix. Do some research, read the book, read the rules of induction at least but don't give it a halfway try -- if you are going to become an Atkins member then do it right. Please!

Yup. Read Dr Atkins a New Diet Revolution 2002 edition.
I was 223 pounds on July 1st of last year. I read the book and followed the plan to a T and now I am 168 which is below my goal. For real though measure your waste and stuff b/c sometimes they shrink, but the number for your weight doesn't move. Weird, but true.
