| Hi PD, I am glad your numbers are moving in the right direction. Well, as far as I am concerned you are still welcome xx |

| I have no doubt that people are going to continue to welcome you here! 1st of all, you're still low carbing, which means you're still going to lose weight! That's what Dr. Atkins was trying to teach anyway, wasn't he? I think that was probably one of his biggest messages. You have to do what's best for you. And definitely what your doctor suggests. Maybe those numbers aren't going to get better until there's more weight loss, or maybe you do need to switch to a few more veggies and less red meat. You're still low carbing. You're still doing great and look how far you've come. ((((((HUGS)))))) to you! |

| Papa Deuce - congrats on getting the a1C below 7. As you know, that's a critical number and that's the number that should make you happy as it shows whatever you're doing has been helpful for your blood sugars, overall. Whatever decision you decide to make, diet-wise, keep up the good work and good luck...!

| If I remember correctly, Dr A recommended waiting for 3-6 months to do labwork after starting the diet. It takes time for your body to adapt. Don't be discouraged. You have made great progress. A1C is an average over 3 months. You will not see a big difference until you have done Atkins for at least that long.

Because if you have moved to OWL Phase, then you should be eating "more veggies" like more of the Induction veggies and you should be on your way to eating veggies like carrots, sweet potatoes/yams, winter squash, beans---kidney, black, pinto, etc. and even whole grains like corn, wheat, rye and oats. So I don't really see why you can't stay on Atkins and follow your doctor's advice because OWL Phase definitely conforms to her recommendations. Don't get fooled into believing that Induction Phase is the entire Atkins diet because it's not and it does a great disservice to this diet to believe that.

What is "not Atkins" about more veggies and beans? And cheese, beef, and cream are not required at all on Atkins... they are allowed if you can tolerate it.Sounds exactly like Atkins, to me. |

| For me, personally, what it sounds like is an affirmation from somewhere (whether you believe in a higher power or not) that Atkins has absolutely worked for you! Now you are being told to move up to OWL (or maybe up a rung if you are already in OWL) after all your hard work and you will continue to see results that benefit your health! Congrats!!!
