| discovered the problem! i'm constipated. -again-. the pain finally moved into my tummy and I went "ooooh yeah that feels familiar". I know flax is only supposed to be used on induction for constipation. I didn't want to take it every day, but every day I DONT take it, my stomach cramps all day and i'm miserable. Lucky for me I absolutely love hot flax cereal with cinnamon and a tbsp of cream. If I hated it I don't know how i'd survive, i've heard those husk things taste disgusting. I've been taking coconut oil for the last few days and have been eating enough fats and drinking lots of water. I'm not on my 2 week induction anymore so is it still going to be bad if I take flax every day? Does that slow anyone down?

| Flax seeds can be taken as a fiber supplement or for constipation issues. There is a sticky thread about this in the Atkins Diet 14-Day Induction forum. My weight loss is not stalled or slowed down by flax seeds. But as with any food, it depends from person to person. Glad you figured out what was wrong.

| Glad you discovered what was causing the pain. Flax does help prevent constipation, but so does fiber from your veggies. Are you getting enough?

| Check page 76, one TBSP is recommended every day to prevent constipation. Check induction rule 12, page 124, it you are already constipated, you are allowed 1 TBSP 'or more' to treat the constipation. I am glad you are 'on the way' to feeling better! As you up the flax a little do keep drinking (although it sounds like you are doing fine in the fluids department!)

| momonmission for years i only ever saw flax in walmart in the pharmacy section, but i was surprised to see flax in my HEB grocery store (a bigger one with more fancy health foods) and also in my location grocery store Super S. My veggies are good I think. I list everything I eat over in my journal too. The only veggies i've really been eating off the first list is lettuce and romaine, peppers, a little celery, and jicama. I'm much more interested in the other list lol, thats where all my favorite veggies are at

| I am so glad that you posted this! I logged on today because I had the same question. At first I thought that I was because my horse yanked on me a couple of times, but it started up again... blah. Looks like I get to take some of his flax seed. LOL Thanks! Amanda |
