| Also there are plenty of supplements that might be just what you need. For example, for years I suffered depressions in the winter, classic 'seasonal affective disorder' type symptoms. A good high dosage B vitamin complex makes all the difference for me. Since you were eating so unhealthily, you are likely vitamin B deficient. Smoking, eating sugar (like you were) and stress are some of the things that will cause a deficiency, as well as birth control pills (that was likely my trigger.) You may well just be seriously depleted, and the foods you get on Atkins alone aren't enough to 'undeplete' you without being able to eat beans and grains. I would suggest a good B complex to start, and to read very carefully the chapters on supplements. Dr. Atkins said supps were one of the three 'legs' of the Atkins 'stool' and you can't do without them.

| Move to OWL and up your fat intake. If you are not using Fitday you should check it out. Sounds like you don't have enough fat in the diet. The extra veggies from Rung One and the Dairy from Rung Two (when you get there) will make a big difference. |

Furthermore you've lost almost 50% of the weight you need to lose. It's time for you to move to OWL. Remember, Dr. Atkins wrote that the last 5-10 pounds must be lost in Pre-Maintenance Phase. Don't do what others do and move to OWL Phase during their last 5-10 pounds---BIG mistake, because you won't learn how your body reacts to foods, you won't find your CCLL and you won't find your CCML by the time you get to goal weight. So it will make it harder for you to maintain your loss. Quote:

| are you on medication for your depression? When I was taking it I wanted to curl up in bed all day - my bones ached, my body was limp feeling - once I got off the meds it took a few months, but I started feeling better again.' I agree you should look into some of the supplements to see if they help - I have a friend here on the board who was having problems (all her life) not having any energy - she recently started taking acetyl l-tyrosine and is amazed at the difference it's making in her life. Like I said - check the supplement listings - but make sure anything you take doesn't not counter the prescription meds you are taking first. Good luck
