Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | And since you are in your teens, make sure that you don't short yourself on calcium and vitamin D. You are in a major growth phase and now is the time to make sure your bones are getting what they need. Broccoli is a high calcium veggie, cheese is also good and when you get dairy back choose high calcium dairy sources. You will never get another chance to build good strong bones so make sure your body gets the right stuff to keep you healthy. |

| Since you are a teenager, your nutritional needs are much different than us, older, folks. So ask your pediatrician about a weight loss plan because Atkins wasn't written for children or teens. There was a separate low carb diet Dr. Atkins used for children and teens, that ensured they would get the nutrition they needed . You're in 8th grade which means you are about 14 years old. Right now, is a critical time in your growth and development. You're going through your growth spurt and your body is becoming "adult". Don't mess things up by denying your body the proper nutrients. So please talk to your parents and your doctor about losing weight in a way that won't mess you up in the future. Your nutritional needs are very different than the adults on this board.
