Default Shirataki Noodles

I just picked up some refrigerated Shirataki Noodles. I'm confused because the ingredient says "yam" and not "glucomannan". It has 2 carbs, which is dietary fiber.

Any help appreciated.

Since the ingredient says yam and not glucomannan.....did I get the wrong item?

What's the question?

Also, I'd be curious to hear about how they taste/texture, etc.

Good luck with them - I was eyeing them yesterday online...

Yeah, that's fine. Glucomannan is a polysaccharide extracted from konjac. The corm of konjac is sometimes called yam.

Excellent. Good luck! I'm curious to hear if they're really like mild tofu in that they don't taste like much, but rather take on the flavor of what you add.

Even if they have no flavor the visual of eating a stir fry with noodles must be nice after Induction.

I have eatin these before and its definetly an acquired taste. Well not taste really cuz they pick up the flavor of what you are cooking them in...It's the texture. I could barely gag them down. Its like chewing on a slippery rubberband/jellyfish

UPDATE

I ended up cooking these a few minutes ago. I cooked the noodles on a pan with some veggies. Not really stiry fry. Just veggie and noodles lol

Well the noodles have no taste really. It tastes like the veggies. However it has a weird texture to them, rubbery. All in all it's good for me. Mine did not taste like tofu, because I purchased the basic shirataki, no tofu added.

If you like noodles, i'd say go ahead and buy them. I'm sure if you cook them longer, you can lessen the rubbery texture of them.
