| Hey there! The best thing to do is move on and finish Induction. The weight loss you'll see at the end of Induction will not allow you to accurately determine your degree of metabolic resistance (see table on page 158 in DANDR), but you didn't "toss it all out the window". Don't use this cheat as an excuse to cheat more -- make your next bite a legal one... and tell your husband to keep the doughnuts away from you in the future, so that you can successfully work towards improving your health.

I believe that the best way to overcome temptation is not with willpower, which is so often in short supply, but with our brain power, a potentially unlimited resource. Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | I would use it as a learning experience. Maybe you could talk to your husband about bringing you the sweets. I mean, I'm sure he didn't mean to damage your efforts, but you have to stand firm on the fact that you're committing yourself to an entirely new Way Of Eating, and that while the donut made you feel better for a while, you're feeling guilty now. Maybe next time, he could give you a nice massage. I know that relaxes me after a bath. Or maybe even going for a nice twilight walk with you. It's about undoing old habits. Replacing emotional eating with better habits will help you to redirect your stress. And don't feel TOO bad. It's only a small stumble on a very large path toward a better you. |

| Just continue on with induction...its going to be a tough few days again since you added the sugar, but persevere. I'm sure everyone here has messed up a time or two thousand!

| I know how you're feeling. I buggered up today too. I was SO happy with my 8lb loss in 4 days!!! and I ate chocolates today. DUMB! I had some of my nieces's Cadbury mini eggs. I know they're a horrible addiction of mine and I went for them. I feel like crap for cheating myself. BUT I know tomorrow's another day and another day to stick with my plan. |

| And, calmly, sincerely, and firmly ask you hubby to not bring that stuff into the house. Ask for his support and tell him you are happy he can have that stuff, but to just buy enough for him and them hide it or eat it outside the house. My DH used to always pick up fruity drinks and junk food when he went out for coffee and the paper. I would see the empty wrappers in the car, but God love him, the food never crossed our threshold so I wasn't tempted. |

| Jill, my hubby does the same. Brings in all kinds of cookies, candies, pretzels... you name it. But he discreetly stashes them in his office, so I don't have to see them! Christy, tell him that if he wants to bring you something to bring you some nice bubblebath or other little thing that you would enjoy having him surprise you with. |
