| Just hold off on testing until you are well. As long as you aren't eating off plan, don't worry about the sticks.

| Megs is right--you are most likely not out of ketosis--the ketones are probably being used by your body to fight the virus, plus, they are leaving your body with the liquid stools. You can't depend on anything being normal while you are this sick. We use ketones in the body for things we can't even imagine. Drink the broth to stay hydrated and to replace electrolytes lost the same way the ketones are lost. Hope you feel better soon! ![]()

| Kathi -- I caught a stomach virus the 5th week on Atkins that took me almost 2 weeks to get over (my family passed back and forth for some time). I hope you feel better very soon and can get back to your Atkins ways soon. When I felt like I could keep food down I took a small amount of chicken cooked it in broth and added some celery, onion and thin slices (jullienne) of zucchini to look like noodles and ate it very slowly over a couple days -- it helped make me feel better and was filling.

| Thanks Carole, I was getting ready to ask for advice on what I can eat. Luckily I think it is passing. To be honest, I don't care if I am not in ketosis at this point - it takes me 304 days to get in, so no matter what I know I will be fine by end of week. I just want to get rid of this empty pit feeling but don't know what to eat. |
