| I think that has happened to most people? Are you measuring? That tells the whole story....not the machine on the floor. Most people have a slowed period for awhile after induction. Many people see increased weight loss once they move to OWL. What you're most likely experiencing is Post Induction Stall Syndrome, commonly referred to as PISS. Here's a link. Hang in there though. The fat has no choice eventually but to make an exit. It's a science. This is just how it works even if you're totally on plan. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...yone-else.html (has this happened to anyone else ?) http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...body-type.html (Not Losing? Maybe you are a "Wait and Whoosh" body type) Can't find the other link I was looking for. I'll keep looking and get back to you. |

| How much water are you drinking each day? You should be drinking AT LEAST 64 ounces of clear water each day ..... are you exercising? These are as important as the food you are eating. You may want to post your menus for a few days and see if anything jumps out with hidden carbs or too large a portion.

| thank you soooo much for the info. I am just getting discouraged and wondering if I should just go low cal and low fat. I hope my body is not resistant to this type of diet. |

If you think fat loss is going too slow on Low Carb, just wait until low cal/fat. Numerous studies have shown that Atkins is superior to all other diets in being the fastest way for weight loss. Don't starve yourself thinking low fat is a better way of eating. |

| I can understand your frustrations but hang in there. Some individuals have faster metabolisms the others. Try eating smaller meals and snacks throughout the day. Sugar free jell-o has been a lifesaver for me. Try exercising at least every other day even it’s just for a short period of time. The recommended cardio time is 40 min. because it takes 20 min. to burn all the sugar in your body but, if your body has a reduced amount of sugar the only thing it can burn is the fat in your body. Remember muscle weighs more then fat and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn. Hang in there and stay positive. |

| How about sharing some stats with us. SW, CW, GW? How much weight do you want to lose? It's important to move up the Rungs according to how much weight you need to lose. How long do you plan on staying on Extended Induction? Now that you're finished with your first 2 weeks of Induction, you'll be able to see, on page 158 DANDR ,what your Metobolic Resistance is. Are you high, average or low? I agree with Imagood (carole), post a menu of what you're eating. Maybe there is something hindering your losses and we can help you figure out what it is. Best of health and lite to you, Sherri

| To answer the first questions, I lost six pounds on Induction (this time) and only a pound in the next week or so. I am now losing a steady pound a week. I am not resistant but am older and the weight comes off slower now that I am closing in on fifty. I have gone through PISS with my two previous attempts and my advice is to hang in there. You probably are not doing anything wrong, your body is readjusting to its new lifstyle and this will pass. When I am stuck, upping my water to over 100 oz a day helps as does a good butt kicking workout. But sometimes just sticking it out isthe thing to do. If you are a Wait and Whoosh type, this will be your loss pattern so get used to it. How do you know? well, if it happens again and again then you will know that is your body's pattern--but don't give in to your body on the waiting game. Its trying to psych you into giving up. Stick with this WOE and eventually those fat cells cave and you will get a loss. |

| Tomorrow is my four week anniversary. My weight is basically the same as it was after 2 weeks, so I feel your pain! I am working on eliminating salty stuff and high sodium foods, just so that I can see faster results! Hang in there! I'm not going anywhere, I'm sticking to it!
