First, welcome! Second, great job shedding that excess water and kickin off your plan!!! It is a great feeling to just feel lighter, right? As for fat, you should have 75% fat, 5% carbs, and 20% protein. It doesn't matter the grams, as long as 75% of your entire day of food intake is fat. I usually get about 70-75% fat and 20-25% protein. On my nights of chicken or fish for dinner I have a hard time finding fat to put in my diet for the day, so I tend to have pepperoni for a snack, or have some sour cream or mayo mixed in with my lunch somehow and that helps level my percentages more. Have you read the 2002 DANDR? Try www.fitday.com to log your daily food, water, and exercise. This site really helps me. Good luck!

| i think its actually 65/30/5 on the % I dont measure my fats, I just make sure I have a little in every meal and if i feel like its to low i take coconut oil. Thats not for everyone though some people cant get past the texture of eating a spoon of the stuff.

Jonniboy, if you add mayonnaise or salad dressing to your meals, you will probably get plenty of fat. Use them as a dip for veggies. Cream cheese, flavored with spices and chives in a celery stalk is another painless way to add fat. Don't sweat it... you are doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you're feeling slimmer, but you should be aware what you're experiencing is simply a loss of water and not fat. You'll soon reach a point where this initial drop comes to an end before the real work of fat burning begins (which is a much slower process). Don't be discouraged by this fact, you do legitimately feel lighter, just be aware of the physiology involved so you can temper your expectations moving forward.

I average about 125 grams of fat per day... My goal is 15-20 grams of carbs, 100 grams of fat and 1500 calories per day - keeping within the correct 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs... It's fun to play with the numbers on fitday...
