| Thank-you everybody for the help and support. Like i've said before this site is a godsend for people doing the low carb lifestyle. I know this sounds strange but a few people i've talked to have said that when they stop losing a fews weeks into induction or extended induction that they stop doing the diet for a day or two and get out of ketosis. then they start induction all over again and it kicks they're weight loss back into high gear. Has anyone ever heard this and if so is it something one can do? cam v. |

| I've not done it and I don't think I ever would, because I hear horror stories of people who try to "controlled cheat" and just end up binging and derailing everything. I am just going to work through my stalls fair and square. |

| You already lost your 10 lbs in your first week - then you started induction... you can't lose that first weight twice... so right now you are in the typical post induction stall... just hang in there and you should start losing again in a week or two... |

| From what I have seen members posting around the board it seems to me that moving to OWL and adding more carbs seems to 'kickstart' losses better than going off for a few days and having to go through the 'induction flu' again after you get back on track

| I agree with the notion that you are actually THREE weeks in instead of two...and what a nice loss you had for your first two weeks! What are you doing for exercise while dealing with your hip issues? I have limited mobility from the waist down, so I know it can be challenging to find something that works!

Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again. |

| something i noticed, was that your cheese consumption was just a little over what the allowance is. you should only be getting a limit of 3-4 ozs a per day, and from what i figured up, you had about 5 ozs each day. you might want to try watch that a little bit, but other than that i thought your foods looked pretty good. i'd also say that you are most definately in your 3rd week of induction. even though you didn't keep track or watch your quantities, you still cut out your carbs and ate good healthy carbs. you did really well with all you lost that first week. keep up the good work |

| i think you guys are right, and going off the diet to try and "kickstart" weight loss would be a ticket for disaster.and i bet it would be hard to start doing atkins again. I could see myself procrastinating and saying well i'll start back on atkins this monday and then not do it and say well its the middle of the week now so i'll wait untill next monday and start then and so on and so on. In regards to what i do for exercise. For my upper body i lift free weights as much as i can, but even working my upper body causes pain in my pelvis area so its pretty limited.I do walk a mile every other day,i wish i could jog but thats impossible right now.I have a physical therapist that works with me on my lower body, but it has been slow going.I broke my pelvis really good.and to top it off i ended up getting arthritis in it.My orthapedic surgeon tells me that after i have this last operation(which is a hip resurfacing)that i will back to the way i was before the wreck. After at least another six months of therapy of course. Thank-you everybody again for all your support and knowledge about this way of life or this way of eating.I guess its one in the same. peace&love cam v. |
