Default cool whip

would a tbl spoon or two of cool whip a day be o.k.? It says it has 2 carb and 1 sugar per 2 tbl spoon but can you really trust what it says on the label???

Default Re: cool whip

It's not only about carbs, but about ingredients too. That's why you have to check the nutritional label and the list of ingredients.

Cool whip contains corn syrup and high-fructose corn syrup. These are nasty sugars, so they are not allowed on Atkins. They are not good for your health either.

Better make yourself some whipped cream using real cream and some sweetener allowed on Atkins.

Cool whip is made of hydrogenated oils, so don't use that. Also it contains added sugar---even the "sugar free" version has added sugar in the form of corn syrup and dextrose.

Your best bet is to whip heavy cream.
