| I would think you can, if you take the pita bread off of it, check the gravy to make sure there are no hidden sugars. |

| I'm guessing you are in UK, Maggi? If so then for our US members I think this is the same as what is called 'gyro' meat in USA which looks like an elephant's leg on a vertical spit roast gadget from which they cut slices. which in UK are served inside a split pitta bread with some salad stuff ![]() ![]() Theoretically it ougth to be 'legal' for Atkins if you don't eat the bread as most recipes you see have just meat and spices added before it is shaped. However many commercial outlets use fillers like breadcrumbs or rusk etc so would not be 'legal' the only way to know for certain is to ask the staff if they make their own and what is in it, or if they buy them in ready-made ask to see the label for the list of ingredients.

| In Canada (well Toronto anyway) it would depend where you buy it from...it's doner kebab in a middleastern/turkish restaurant...and gyros in a greek restaurant, I've always tasted fillers in them. I've always found in greek restaurants it's almost similar to a very thinly shaved spiced meatloaf..... I find shwarma very similar, but usually is just meat without fillers, though it's in a juice/sauce. It's one of those fine line things I think...hard to tell what would be added, i would avoid if you can..

| If you want a kebab, always order a chicken / lamb shish kebab. The meat is freshly grilled and delicious served with salad. Just toss the pitta and you should be fine.
