| day 1- 4 sweeteners is too much! 3 a day. also, HALF an onion? like... a big onion? onions have more carbs than other salad veggies. where are all your salad veggies btw? day 2- you still need more veggies. 3 cups a day 2 or 3 of salad veggies and if its 2, 1 cup of others. cut out the atkins chocolate. those are made with milk, soy, whey etc, and that isnt allowed on induction. day 3- same thing, more veggies from the right places, no chocolate. where's all your fat coming from btw? day 4-stop with the chocolate! it doesnt seem like you've eaten enough this day. back to the fat question, are your veggies cooked in butter/ your meats cooked in oil, etc? 5-whats a little corn stick? if you mean corn as in yellow corn, not allowed on induction. my guess on you not losing weight would be 1. your veggies are all over the place. print out the pocket induction food list at the top of the main forum, and get 2-3 cups a day! you need your salad veggies! no more than 1 cup of 'other' veggies a day. 2. fats! you need your fats to be 65% of what you're eating. thats why its important to make sure your cooked foods are cooked in fats, or if not, take coconut oil etc. 3. aside from coffee what else are you drinking? any diet cokes? how much water? are you working out? as far as sweets go, you are -way- better off with zero sweets. you are allowed 3 packets of sweetener a day, but as i've said on other posts, induction is about breaking your addiction to sugar, not enabling it with something else. plus its way too easy to over do it. personally sweets even induction friendly ones, make me crave sugar. i avoid them 99% of the time.

| Better nothing at all. Get rid of your sweet tooth now. My personal opinion is that those who do Atkins the most successfully are those who try (as much as they can) to fully get rid of caffeine, sweeteners and all taste they used to have for sweet things. Also, what do you mean by "sweeteners" (see Day 1).

| i've kept my decaf, but i use no sweetener at all in it, just coffee and heavy cream. here's how i see sweeteners. people say they use them to help cravings till they go away. but here you are on day 5 and still eating 2 chocolate bars a day. would you consider eating 2 normal chocolate bars a day healthy? so why is two atkins chocolate bars a day healthy? how is it helping your cravings, if you're still eating them? it doesnt sound like theyre helping it sounds like they're there to let you 'get away' with a craving. but you're not because you haven't lost weight. that should be reason enough to throw them out!

| Hummmm, I would think it was the Atkins Chocolate Bar. They are NOT good, they are NOT induction friendly and they have no redeeming value. Also, no corn or peas while in induction. Get the acceptable list and make a copy to put in your wallet. If it's not on your list, stay away. Welcome by the way. Glad you found us. |

| wow thank you so much guys! that is so helpful ok, from no on, no chocolate atkins bars and no sweeteners with my coffee (i'll stick with espresso for a little bit longer lol but plain grounded only from now on). yes, i'll go and buy more veggies then, i should be snacking on them more. and cut out onions. i do fry my bacon, eggs and veggies (sometimes) in oil. is that wrong? p.s. if the ketostix show positive pink results, doesnt it mean i am in ketosis? Once again, thanx |

| welcome - here are some links that may help. You should get a copy of the 2002 DANDR book - you will be more successful if you understand the plan and why it works - plus the rules and foods to eat. Make sure to begin with you are only eating recipes that are induction friendly. Yes - if you are showing color on the keto sticks you are in keotsis -- the color doesn't matter -- the darker the color the more dehydrated you are - not the further into keotsis you are -- you are either IN or you aren't. Drink at least 64 ounces of pure water a day (coffee, tea, soda's do not count - pure water only). Decaf would be better than double expresso - maximum of 3 Splenda packets per day. Start an exercise routine of some sort from the beginning - it helps to keep you busy so you don't eat and tones your body from the beginning.
