Default Sugar in mayo, dressings, etc

Just wondering how much you personally worry about sugar in condiments and things of that nature. Like when sugar is way down on the list or the total carbs or sugars are 1 or less gram. I don't eat ketchup and I try to avoid anything with any form of sugar in it, but there's sometimes a teeny tiny amount in some mayo or dressings.

Do you worry about it or not? Just wondering.

Bree

I try to avoid it when I can. I make my own mayo and I just made my own breakfast sausage since I couldn't find premade ones that were legal. I will admit that there is one thing that I make an exception for. I am extremely picky about my italian salad dressing that I've used since at least kindergarten. I really don't like any other dressing and I decided that it was better to use it and eat salads than not. However, I use a lot less of it than the recommended serving and I switched to the "zesty" version which is less sugar per serving. I think its 1 or 2g sugar per serving and I use about a half serving. If it has hindered my weight loss, I haven't noticed and I think its worth it for me to enjoy salads.

In mayo, I don't worry about it. The amounts are typically microscopic. In salad dressing, I try to limit it as much as possible. 1-2g per 2 TBS is about my limit of acceptability -- any more than that and the dressing doesn't taste right. My favorite and unfortunately expensive dressing has none in it, but I can't afford the $3.5 per 16 oz every week. Some of it is tolerance, but too much of the stuff can definitely have an impact.

I use Hellmans and have no problem with the sugar content - either with weight gain or causing a rise in my blood sugar readings - so I am careful how much I use but I do use it.

Thanks. I guess I'll try not to worry about it. I make my own dressing using the Good Seasonings Italian dressing packet and that has 1 g of sugar in a full serving and I never use a full serving. The new mayo I got doesn't have sugar in it so I should be good there. I'm just trying to be extra careful. Thanks.
