Re: Day 7 Induction and Losing Steam... | | | We have similar stats (once you adjust for height) and if your experience is anything like mine, please expect to lose slowly and try not to get frustrated. I have wooshes, weeks and weeks at the same weight, regains, losses, etc. This DOES work, and you WILL lose weight, but you have to be patient, calm, and just work the plan until the scale catches up.
You sound bored with the food. Consider trying a few new recipes and spicing it up a bit. I'm a big time foodie, so as long as I have lots of delicious meals I'm a happy camper even if my weight isn't going down for a while. After induction is over please don't feel like you need to stay at a low carb level. You're not heavy to begin with, so chances are your metabolism can handle more carbs than you think, and the flexibility will make it easier to stay on program and stay happy with your food.
Just as an example, here are my average weekly weights and carb levels after induction, once I started tracking things. At the end of induction I had lost 5 pounds, and most of it was in the second week.
1 - 143lbs / 30 carbs
2 - 142.6 / 34
3 - 140.7 / 43
4 - 140.8 / 38
5 - 141.7 / 30
6 - 138.6 / 35
7 - 137.8 / 35
8 - 137.2 / 45
This morning I was at 136.6.
Do you see weeks 3, 4, and 5 where I stayed the same weight and then went UP a pound? How silly would it have been to give up then, when the week after I lost three pounds?
Really, you will be so much better off if you relax about the weight loss and just let it happen. It WILL happen, but it will take time and stressing out about it won't help.
Edit - Oh, and those are the WEEKLY weights. I weigh every day and then average over the week to track net losses. The DAILY fluctions are even wilder! Last week I had a day at 139, and the week before that I was at 140 for a couple days. Really, you can't track this on a day to day basis. It's only over the course of months that the downward slope will become apparant and make you smile! | |
