| I was never a sweets person, so sugar doesn't do it to me, but things like pizza and baking bread certainly do. We are so cued into our triggers. I can be stuffed and smell something or even read a recipe and see a picture and I am drooling and feel hungry. This is bad because I am writing a low carb cookbook, so I am looking at food all the time. Sometimes I have to just stop and do something else for a while to keep from eating every five minutes.

| I guess no cookie dough scented air fresheners for us! LOL! That's awesome you are writing a low carb cookbook, I should do that myself!

| What has gotten me, twice now, is the smell of bread being heated... once as the wife was making toast (my god how I do love toast)... and again just this morning as she was making a grilled tuna sandwich. Since you mention air fresheners... My business partner got the bright Idea to hang up vanilla scented trees in our equipment trailer. I have flip-flopped probably 10,000 times between thinking the smell is rancid and thinking I could sure go for some vanilla flavored anything.

| Oh, MY... ![]() April 21, 2009 Eating chocolate is one of those pleasure experiences many of us can’t live without, and for those serious choc addicts who think they've done it all, there could yet be a new frontier - chocolate that you inhale. Created by a professor at Harvard University with help from art and science college students, Le Whif began as a culinary art experiment which culminated into a marketed product that’s set for a world tour - it’s a chocolate inhaler shaped like a tube of lipstick that is breathed in for a mouth full of chocolate, with a tiny fraction of the calories. Scoffing is replaced by whiffing. David A. Edwards, Professor of the Practice of Biomedical Engineering Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences (what that has to with chocolate, we may never know) is the lead creator of Le Whif. ..... | Hubby was making brownies the other night... Oh the smell was divine... I also love the smell of Krispy Kreme donuts fresh baked glazed in all their glory... I used to live near the Kilpatricks bread factory in California... you couldn't drive down the freeway without being immersed in the aroma of fresh baked bread... Sourdough toast... mmmmmmm |

| same thing happened to me last night................ My son was making Pop Tarts and the smell totally got me. I felt like I was in heaven's bakery for a few minutes and it smelled irresistably good. Keep in mind that I hate PopTarts and never even looked at them before I went on Atkins. I guess ones brain/smell receptors become highly sensitive for smells after a being a while on atkins.

| If anything in the world would do it for me it would be the smell of those darn Krispy Kream donuts! So, far I've been able to avoid them at work. |
