| 2-3 tbsp of fresh lemon juice are allowed during Induction. But once he starts drinking water, he'll learn to love it. I think many of us had the "water -- yuck!" moment when we started, but it goes away. Before Atkins, I was probably drinking 1-2 glasses of water per day and hated it. Now I'm drinking about 150 oz and almost nothing else.

| I started at 64 oz too and back then it was a nightmare getting all that water in. Keep in mind that the more you weigh and exercise, the more water you need. But many members discovered they lose better when drinking more water, so it's worth making the effort.

| I never drank water before I started Atkins - the first day I decided since the book said to drink water and everyone was telling me I needed to drink water I'd try it...the first few days I drank 64 ounces...after a week I was drinking 120 to 150 ounces everyday and haven't looked back. I don't add anything to my water, I have learned to like the taste without anything added. I don't like the taste of the water here where I live so I buy gallons of Spring water (.67 a gallon at Walmart) and put it in the refrigerator - it has a clean taste so I have no problem drinking it. A few days ago it was very hot outside and I was mowing so I added a slice of lemon to my water jug and drank 1 30oz jug of water that way - it actually made my stomach upset so I have decided not to do that again. When I bartended years ago I drank water with lemon, lime or orange slices floating in them all the time - but now I don't like it. Tell him to drink it plain - it's much better for him that way!

| We have a water filtration system on our tap, boy if I go and try to get water from other towns I work in... its almost chewable! You can smell the clorine! I bring a jug with me thats been frozen to keep it cold. Staws help me to drink it easier than just sipping too. Keep Happily Turning Purple!!!!!! |
