Question Not enough fat to do Atkins?

Hi, I have a question I CANNOT find an answer to, so maybe someone out there can help me.

I did Atkins about 2 years ago. I lost 65 lbs going from 195 to 130. I've been successful in maintaining my weight over the last 2 years but lately I've been trying to lose my last 10 lbs and it's been extremely difficult to get below 127. I yo-yo between 127 and 130. Is it because I don't have enough fat left to burn? I'm 5'6 and I physically have enough extra to grab a chunk lol. Am I wasting my time? I can lose 65 lbs with no problem, but I can't lose 10?! It can't be because I'm inexperienced in the do's and don'ts!

Bodies, they tell us, do have 'set points' they don't like to go below, but certainly these aren't set in stone I am sure. It just may take a while.

But why not try exercising to tone and whittle? Along with your good Atkins program of course, it sounds like you have been smashingly successful!

Yea I think I've heard that before. Well, even if I don't lose anymore I'm mostly just doing it to support my husband. I'd LIKE to go lower, but if my body says no, it says no. As far as working out goes...well, that's a love hate relationship...and the hate usually takes over after about a week. lol. I can stick to a diet, but I can't stick to a workout plan! Some people are weaker than others in certain areas I guess. lol Thanks for your help! )

Hi,
At 127 lbs at 5"6' you are at a perfect weight take a look at your bmi here it is within the normal range which is perfect.

Healthy Weight: Assessing Your Weight: BMI: Adult BMI Calculator: English | DNPAO | CDC

momtomany is right sometimes our bodies tell us ok that is enough and thre is no way it wants to let go, unless you starve yourelf and you don't want to do that.

Whoa no, definitely not! I like food way to much to ever have an eating disorder thats for sure! I know my BMI says I'm normal, but my views of me in a bathing suit say something totally different. I guess it's just something I'm just not going to be able to fix with weight loss alone. Oh the dreaded treadmill and weight machines....damn them!

From what people write on the forums doing heavy weight lifting (something like the 'slow burn' routine for about 20 minutes a few times a week) is supposed to do more for changing your body shape than just doing cardio like a treadmill workout.

Ya know, I could probably do that. My husband and I both enjoy lifting and we have the weight set in the garage collecting dust. Great idea! Thanks so much!
