| The Fat Fast was a last resort sort of suggestion from Dr A to get things moving when Induction doesn't seem to be working. It is not meant to be long term nor is it balanced in nutritional needs. Before embarking on that route, how about posting a few menus and your water intake so we can see if maybe there is something else that is holding you up. There is no sense resorting to the fat fast if there are other little things you haven't tweaked yet. Also, I know you can't exercise really vigorously, but what can you do? How much movement do you get during the day? Maybe your calorie intake is out of whack with your calorie output. I know Atkins doesn't normally count calories but without regular hard exercise, the calories will come into play. All the more reason to let us look at a days menu. |

Before you do the Fat Fast, re-read that part in DANDR and this sticky: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-fat-fast.html (Who should do the Fat Fast?) I checked your FitDay and there are several things which you should change, especially if you are still on Induction as your profile says. Peanut butter, English muffin (???), kielbasa and other sausages, Jell-O, Atkins shakes and bars, strawberries, Endulge cups or almonds (I might have missed some) are not okay during the first phase of Atkins and some are not okay on Atkins at all. Plus, you are eating sugar free cheese cake every day. I don't know what the ingredients in that cheese cake are, but they may be stalling you. I and a few other members have suggested you (on April 24th) to eliminate these foods. Unless you do these changes first, you should not even consider trying the Fat Fast. I would strongly recommend you to re-read DANDR 2002, in particular Chapters 11-13, 15, 20 and 26. Remember to also exercise and take body measurements.

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | if you are still on induction since the first of the year, other than stopping all the junk Georgiana pointed out that you are eating everyday going to Rung 1 in OWL may help also....it's an added 5 net carbs of veggies - many of us (myself included) were helped by moving up to OWL. You need the book and to follow foods on the acceptable food list....how much water are you drinking on a daily basis? What exercise are you doing? | I have made another list of "no, no's" some of which I was not aware. I do have a sugar problem and some times I will try to eat something to bring my sugar up to normal such as a teaspoon of peanut butter or 3 strawberries in jello. I am glad you looked at my fitday. I think that is the only way I can get back on course. I do measure and have lost a few inches. The cheese cake is a Atkin recipe and contains only cream cheese, sour cream, heavy cream and eggs. I split into 16 pieces which I thought was keeping with in the carb level.
