| Hi Everone: I'm glad everybody finds my Metamucil anguish funny. Makes me kinda feel like Woody Allen. Whey protein is okay on induction as long as it is very low in carbs, mostly whey protein isolate, and ingested with some fat. I mix mine with water, then I'll drink two tablespoons of olive oil. The protein I use is low in carbs, about 3 grams. The fat acts like a buffer and I usually drink whey now (thanks, no comments) with that horrible orange fiber. The net carbs become zero. I only drink the whey proyein post workout. It hasn't bothered me at all. This morning, day 12 on induction, I weigh 227 lb. I started induction, so I thought, back about three weeks ago, but it was half-donkeyed. I weighed then 245 lb. After buckling down and writing my journal on fit day, I got it down right. So, 12 days ago, I weighed 239 lb. I'm about six feet tall, have a light (bone) frame, but a relatively average bodyfat %. I haven't measured my self this morning for bodyfat, so I'm not celebrating my weight loss yet. I guess if you guys saw me in the street in shorts and a tee shirt, you'd notice that I do have love handles but my back and shoulders are much wider than my sides and hips. I'm v-shaped all right, but I'm using Atkins to boost growth hormone and testosterone levels. I've been asked in private messages, why I'm not on a hard core bodybuilding forum. Simply because those guys are definetly over-traing and use androgens, steroids and what have you to gain lean mass. I'm not a virgin, I'm taking an anti-aromatase, an estrogen blocker, for a cycle of eight weeks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, us guys need estrogen. But I'm definetly supplementing myself with extra calcium and Vitamin D and with milk thistle. Thanks everybody. I remember when I purchased fit day 10 days ago, that I put 228 lb. as my short term weight goal. It predicted that I'd reach it on June 28. I entered my goal May 28. I opted for a 845 calorie daily, restriction, so the program wouldn't give me red flags warning me that I was losing too much weight too soon. For my goal weight, the 845 calorie restriction should had averaged me about 1.5 lb weight loss per week. It predicted a 0.24 lb daily loss. A plot of weight vs. time produces not a linear graph, but a sigmoidal one. I guess to really know how much weight I'm losing on a daily basis I would have to figure out the slope. Maybe I'll do that on Excell for Monday when I do my measurements and weigh myself. This weekend is cardio so I'm bound to lose over a pound this weekend. Just don't compare yourselves to my achievements. I've been weight lifting and exercising for many, many years so I have what's commonly refered to as 'muscle memory'. It will probably take me about 7 months to achieve the results that initially took me 7 years to build. Going for a Ph.D. in physical sciences puts a damper on exercise motivation. When I hit upper division classes in school, my exercise level dramatically dropped. Yeah, Yeah, yeah ('guess I'm a Beatles fanatic), you probably are thinking I had enough time to get some exercise level then. I majored in chemistry, and minored in two areas: physics and math. Funny, when I was in college I thought I was going to be a psychology major. I almost got my A.in A. in it, then I took a college level class in chemistry. Well, that's another story...I just pulled my bike out of the backroom in my house and it still has the digital spreed recorder on it. I used to cycle 5 times a week with an average distance of 20 miles covered at 13.5 mph. The bike is a Cannondale hybrid, not a road bike. I live in Miami in an area called the Waterway neighborhood. It's also known as West Gables. My back yard has the Coral Gables canal cutting through it. Excellent fishing spot but I'm not into the sport. I feel empathy for the fish. Those bike rides were neat because I'd cut through Coral Gables' Miracle Mile area, explore alley ways then proceed on to Viscaya or Key Biscayne. But I couldn't continue the rides with my work load. I used to help run the family business at the time and attend school. I was burnt out. Luckily we sold the businees back in December, 2007 but I remain as a technical consultant for the business. It pays my Atkins food then some chump change. I'm rambling and am about to go out and do cardio before it begins to storm once again here in sunny (what a crock) Miami. I don't mind the rain, it's the dipole moments (lightning) that wimps me out. Later buddies, Norman

| That's why I take the Metamucil capsules! No fuss, no muss, no aftertaste. Just psyllium husk in a tolerable form. |
