| Berries are tricky!! I learned I could handle some and not others. If I remember correctly, I spent a few weeks on that rung. For example, I can handle strawberries (sometimes even a bigger serving than I should) but I didn't do as well with blueberries. I'm going to try some raspberries today and see how that goes. I've got one peach left on the counter and wish the dogs would eat it! I've thus far only got a good and bad list for losing and am hoping during maintenance more of the bad can be tolerated in small servings. It is certainly all very individual but I'd spend a few weeks there if you intend to be a fruit eater!! |

| And keep in mind that things can change up on you, at any given time. I ate cottage cheese and yogurt for a few months before they turned into trigger foods for me. In fact, in Maintenance, I avoid all grains and dairy other than butter and Induction cheeses. Fruits seem to be OK. Everyone is different, though... I know of many in Maintenance that can pretty much eat from all of the rungs. This is why OWL is incredibly important... it's where you learn how to eat for the rest of your life. I treated each new food this way - started with having it 3 days during the first week, then daily if I've had no negative reaction. Limit new foods to one at a time, too. I spent a few weeks on each rung.

| Thanks for the comments and thoughts. I do plan to stay on this rung for a little while. I'm just so darn excited to be able to eat fruit again, and the timing is perfect since everything is in season now and the fruit tastes divine. |

| In some cases, I learned within what foods agreed with me and what didn't. Doing the Blood Sugar Symptom Test in the book helps tremendously. It typically tells you if a food is problematic.

| I have spent months on some rungs. It is not like I have been in a hurry so I don't mind. I never had a whole rung not agree but there are foods (like rice) which cannot be eaten because I get a sugar rush. (the blood sugar symptoms megs is referring to) I knew right away when I tried brown rice that it would not work. Then there are foods that I could not have by themselves but that can work if eaten with protein and/or fats (like raspberries, cantaloupe, apples, oranges ) So these I have experimented with and it may have taken several weeks for each.
