| Prob diuresis at this point.keep it up and fat will mobilize.I have a hard time losing that close to 20 carbs myself. Some do fine though. You will have to determine the amt of carbs you can eat and lose wt.The key will be if you can keep hunger controlled at your carb consumption. |

| It is weird isn't it? When I started Atkins I often had to step on the scale several times to check it that thing had gone crazy because pounds dropped off so quickly and yet I was eating tons Good luck Marie. Sounds like you are off to a great start.

| Okay..... looks like we've got another addict among us... Yes, the scale will also measure the stuff you eat, so if you drink 1 L of water and then weigh yourself, you'll be more than 2 lbs heavier. Some of us prefer to weigh weekly. Others prefer to weigh daily. It depends... if the number on the scale influences your mood, then by all means don't weigh yourself daily --- fluctuations are perfectly normal and can be due to too much sodium, TOM, a slower digestion, water retention due to heat, etc.

| My name is Jeannette and I'm a scale addict! Big Time!! ![]() I restarted Atkins on June 19th after a two week carb party (talk about a hangover!!) and, as of today, I've lost 8 lbs. of the 10 lbs. I gained. I know it's water weight, carbs blow me up like a blowfish! One day I couldn't even find my ankle bones! Here's what I've discovered about weighing. We've all been told to weigh ourselves first thing in the morning. So, I weigh myself first thing, then about 1/2 hour later, I weigh myself again. Why do I do this? Because I've found that my true weight is measured after that 1/2 hour. Of course, if I go to the gym that day, after I come home and shower, I will weigh again, because, even though I don't count it, I will weigh even less then. Don't know why this is so, but it is. And, of course, it's fun to watch the scale go down like that. I can weight myself like that because when the scale goes up, I don't get all depressed or down on myself. I know what is going on in my body, so I just take a look at what I've been consuming, or in the case of water, not consuming, and go on. |

| Me too! I gotta weigh first thing in the morning, post-potty, pre-drinking of anything. LOL.... I too can handle the fluctuations from day to day. If you can't, however, then best to only do it once per week. I weigh every day...unless I KNOW the number is gonna suck due to water retention...but I only count the weight that registers on fridays as my "official" weight of record.

Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again. |

| It is best to weigh first thing in the morning as it will tell you the real weight you are then.I think soon enough you will become a scale addict like us all simply because as we lose weight in the beginning it is so pleasing that we constantly want to see the numbers decreasing so we keep weighing ourselves. On this diet some people lose lots of weight during induction so it is possible you have lost 2 lbs.Keep going and let us know how your 2 wks induction goes, all the best.
