I really need to go out and get the book again I think. It's been years since I've read it. :[
Which version though? I have been reading on this forum that's there are different versions. How messed up is that though? If people are trying the new way and it isn't working... I don't get that at all.

Default Re: Vanilla Extract Question

You can check this yourself by looking carefully at the tlist in Atkins book (which we follow)
The list is also on this thread
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)

but we are only allowed 1/2 avocado.
We are allowed 2 cups of the salad veggies (as in the list) and i cup from the other list.

Sugar snap peas are fine. As long as they are in the pod they come with enough fibre to be fine (There are some old discussion of this here at ADBB - and that seemed to be the consensus)

We use the version called Dr.Atkins New Diet Revolution. Published in 2002. We do not use the later ones as the company changed some stuff. The earlier versions of the diet were different and here we stick with the 2002.

Good luck. I found my book in a used book store. There are cheap ones to be had on the net too. The book is a good read and gives lots of inspiration.

Default Re: Vanilla Extract Question

Twitter, it usually isnt the New version of Atkins that fails. Often it is the fact they cannot adapt to the modified way of doing Atkins. It offers more choices as you go up the rungs and thus makes it more complicated to follow and do without straying. Some folks just prefer the old meat and greens version--but that one doesn't teach you how to maintain in the real world and add some carbs back in. For those used to the old version, the 2002 version offers too many temptations and it isn't the right choice for them.

just wanted to say THANK YOU! your advice was spot on Chinadoll. Also the zucchini idea has changed my life! I actually acquired a slicer that slices zucchini into spaghetti thin strips. Awesome tool. It's so easy to heat up and eat too. Fresh zucchini is only 2-3 mins in the microwave. I'm down around 10lbs since this post. I lost most of that the 2 weeks I did exactly as you said :P I'm still fudging around with soda's and stuff and definitely not getting enough water. The *beep* has hit the fan here in Florida though, so I'm not expecting too much of myself right now. Still losing weight though and healthier now thanks to you
