The digital scale!!

hi.. all... I weighed by son this am as usual... the scale is new and we weigh in the same small area everyday. Yesterday he weighed 235.00 ... even.. and this am weighed 335.6.. then.. as he was getting his shirt back on.. I said.. let's do this again... I put him back on.. and then he weighed 234.2... then... I weighed him again.. 234.8... then again... 234.8... always about 10 seconds in between.. I know.. I am anal... and maybe I got a false reading... but... what number is accurate??? thanks.. Lia

With a digital your position has to be exactly correct. On mine there is a +/- .5-.7 degree difference if I'm standing straight and dh tells me what it says or if I bend my head to see what it says. To be honest, I go with which ever # the first time... if for some reason, in your case the first reading was high I will weigh a couple of times until I get 2 readings the same... now which one is right, who knows...

Also, it is better not to weigh everyday (however I do it as well and have since restarting introduction, but after will go to once a week twice at most)

o... I tried it myself.. I usually weigh on my old faithful scale... but.. I weighed 3 times and the same number each time.. don't know why my son's had 3 different weights... Lia

oops.. it is 235..lolol.. wow... that would be a world believe or not!!!!he did weigh 2 times in a row at 234.8... Lia

I'd go by the 2 times weigh in that was the same.

wow.. sham... you have lost 103 lbs in one year... that is super!!!! I hope my son has the same luck.. he is off to a good start... slow.. but good... he is working very hard.. Lia

If he is shifting his weight from foot to foot or forward backward it will definitely affect the weight. Also depends on where he places his feet on the scales. Weighing weekly is probably better. Less frustration if this scale is going to drive you batty.

My scale does the same thing. I try and make sure to weigh in the same exact spot ( on the same bathroom floor tile) and place my feet is the same spot. The I'll get on and off a few times and which ever reading I get twice is the one I go with. But really the difference for me is usually around +/- .5-.7 pounds which really isn't a huge deal but it does really matter when you really need to see some movement on that scale!
