| Is it a stall or is Aspartame to blame? I'm frustrated. | dreamof220 | Atkins Diet (Extended) Induction | 9 | February 8th, 2009 07:34 PM |

| You're going through "the change" and you're not putting on weight is something to be proud of. The hormonal changes in your body is probably making it somewhat hard right now. Metabolism may be changing, thyroid perhaps. Expect some up and downs as there may be days with water retention. I say stick with it. You are doing great. Your menu is looking good to me. You can tinker with it if you want - try no splenda and see what happens. Do you put your menu through fitday or a a similar counter programme. I just wondered if you are getting enough fat. What made you gain that 4-5 lbs? Working out? We are starting up some challenges now for July - love to see you there.

| I don't know what made me gain weight. I know I had a prob with cream. I am proud of myself. I am. I'm just stuck. I don't think I get enough fat too.I was thinking of having a more fatty lunch, like egg yolks and mayo. Thanks for your input. I think I just needed to get this out there. (((lisa)))

| Lisa, I am also going through "the big change" and I am here to tell you that if you are drinking 80 or so ounces of water and eating as you say, then you are doing all you can do and our time of life is largely the culprit. I eat a RUng 1-2 diet most days, I also watch my calories, and I do three heavy duty cardios for 45 mins, 3 heavy weight liftin sessions and usually 2-3 other hous of exercise a week and I go many weeks without a loss. I occasionally drop a pound. It is SSSLLLOWWW going for us hormonally challenged women. I would suggest moving up to rung one and then later, rung 2 to give yourself more variety and dig in for the long haul. It is slow going while we are on the peri-menopause wagon. Sorry I don't have better news for you. |

| I was thrown through symptoms the change at age 31 when I had a partial hysteroctomy -- believe me I could write volumes about what your body goes through!!! How much plain water are you drinking daily and what type of exercise are you doing? I agree your fat looks a little low...it's very important to get your fat in each day. Yep, there are some of us that loose V E R Y slowly.....it's hard sometimes but it's worth it when that next pound finally leaves the building!!! LOL GOod luck. |

| Ah, the swan song of hormones - how well I remember that tune!! I started pre-menopause when I was about 45. From then until I reached post-menopause, at about 60 or so, my weight just kept going up and up! It was horrible! Then, after I turned 63 and quit my job, bam! I lost 20 lbs., not even really trying! Stress, ladies, stress! Stress can make and keep you fat, when I quit my job, I gave up a lot of stress!! I lost another 20 when I had knee replacement surgery 18 months ago, then put 10 back on. Now I'm determined to get this weight off!! Today you have different options then I did during that 15 year of time in my life. Research, talk to your doctor (and, please, don't let him put you off, if he does, find another doctor, wish I had!!) and you will succeed! |

| Thanks Jeannette. I guess this means that when my DH finally retires and we don't move to a new foreign country every couple of years the weight will just fall right off! LOL I eat a big stressburger every single day in my current life. |
