| I guess I'm wrong and so is:

Influences of variation in total energy intake and dietary composition on regulation of fat cell lipolysis in ideal weight subjects. J Clin Invest 1987; 80(2):566-72. 4. Rabast U, Kasper H, Schonborn J. Comparative studies in obese subjects fed carbohydraterestricted and high carbohydrate 1,000-calorie formula diets. Nutr Metab 1978; 22(5): 269-77. 5. Sandretto AM, Tsai AC. Effects of fat intake on body composition and hepatic lipogenic enzyme But I must concede, it took me 2 days at 3250+ cal per day, 50% carb intake to produce the weight gain I got. After the first meal, (1 cup oat meal, 2 teaspoon full of sugar, 1 poppy seed bagel with jelly and 1.5 cups of skim milk) I gained close to 3 lb. I'm sure it was the sodium , water and fiber in my system, plus the water that I drank. And, of course, my scale is broken after I had my first carb load this weekend on Saturday. Yes, I started out at 225 lb Saturday morning and now I'm at 234 lb. Must be a carb induced hallucination. Sorry, Dr. sdot313. I don't get to defend my dissertation until August 28th. Incidentally, my bodyfat % remained the same.

I would not risk throwing the results of two good weeks out the window, but this is a decision you have to make for yourself. As Jill said, if you want to stay on track, there are ways to do it. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

I believe that the best way to overcome temptation is not with willpower, which is so often in short supply, but with our brain power, a potentially unlimited resource. Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"
