Default found a bread with 9 carbs

I can't remember the fiber grams, so net carbs are less than 9 on one slice.
At first I thought it was too good to be true. Well, it doesn't really taste like bread LOL. It does, but not as good as I remember bread being. It kind of melts in your mouth. It's a Sara Lee bread. I had one slice with some homemade chilli and a hot dog from a local deli. It was a nice treat, but the funny thing is, I would have enjoyed the hot dog cut up in a bowl of chilli with cheese on top more than I did having it in a piece of bread. Is that weird? lol

And BTW, I'm over 4 months in, so I've done all the rungs.

I really don't miss bread, but I admit, sometimes it would be nice to be able to throw together a quick sandwich At least you have some if you want it.

Momonmission, I haven't found too many of the breads to very good (when I was at those rungs the last time around) but I have found that Mission and a couple other brands make a terrific low carb tortilla. I use it for wraps, fajitas, rolling around scrambled eggs and cheese, even as a cannelloni. Worth trying if you haven't yet.

Alas I think I will be sticking around rung 2 for awhile, but at your rung these are a nice addition.

Since I'm on Rung 1, I'm not doing bread either (other than a MIM shaped like a piece of bread every once in awhile) but before my husband joined me in this WOL I would buy Aunt Hattie's Low-Carb bread for him which has 7 carbs, 2 fiber and 4 protein. As for tortillas, Mama Lupe's Low Carb tortillas come in at 7 carbs, 4 fiber and 5 protein. I did try one of those a couple weeks ago when I was "swooning" all over the place. Turns out what I needed was not additional carbs but to forego blood pressure meds (per my doc) - I can handle that, for sure!

I've made almond bread a couple times - it's pretty good - before I started Atkins I ate Carb Smart bread - the slices didn't seem skimpy and it was 15 carbs for 2 slices.

Be VERY careful with those low carb breads. Some manufacturers are doing a bait-and-switch with them. That is they subtract the fiber grams from the total carbs, so the "net" carbs looks reasonable.

For example:

total carbs 12
fiber grams 7

That would look as though the bread had 5 net carbs. But if you plug the total cals, total carbs, total protein andfiber grams into a hidden carb calculator, you'd find that the real total carbs is 20, not the 12.

So be very, very, VERY careful with these products and either do the math in the store or jot down the numbers and use a hidden carb calculator BEFORE you purchase it.

Not sure if you have a Trader Joe's near you or not - but they have a bread there that I used to LOVE and I'm looking forward to once I'm in maintenance...

It's their Sprouted 7-Grain Bread.
There's actually 3 different types of this bread.

There's 7 g carbs and 3 g fiber per slice (4 g net carbs per slice).

I LOVE this bread - my husband hates it. lol.

There's also an ezekial 9 bread out there that's like 14 g carbs and 5 g fiber (9 g net carbs per slice)...never had that one - but I know a lot of organic people like the Ezekial 9 breads.
