I don't have big weight loss goals as many people on this board have. I am going through serious frustrations regarding my recent weight gain. I was 107 lbs couple of months ago until i started low carb not induction exactly. It has def helped me keep my blood sugar stable. I feel much better and satisfied.
You were at a very low weight when you started low carb. Since it appears that you lost weight by doing a low calorie, low fat diet, which left you shaky 24/7, I think your body was starving and when you started giving it real food and fat, it latched onto every morsel to get your body back from starvation. That is your body's job.

It goes back to our ancestors, who did not have grocery stores full of every imaginable food around the year. When food was plentiful, they gained weight to get them through the months where they had little food. Over the winter they had little food, so they were "starving" again by the time food became plentiful once again, so the body celebrates by gaining much needed weight.

When you are too thin and have no more fat stores, your body has no choice but start "eating" up your lean body mass (muscles). When you provide adequate fat and protein, it gets busy gaining back muscle, which weighs heavy for the amount of space it takes up.
Quote:
My only problem is that I cannot loose those 5 lbs back. I am not doing induction, but I follow a very low carb meal plan. No breads, pasta or even fruits except berries and nuts.
I believe your body NEEDS those 5 pounds. You were starving before.

Quote:
Please suggest me something asap. I asked for help on facebook atkins. But I got no help. This is my last try or else i would be compelled to go back to my previous low calorie, low fat diet(that has left me shaky 24/7).
If you go back to low calorie/low fat and eat so little that you are shaky 24/7, you could have a heart attack. You are losing muscle--your heart is a big muscle. You are shaky due to starving and loss of electrolytes such as potassium.

Your body is trying to save you from yourself. You can totally mess up your metabolism for life doing what you are doing.

i for one learned to live outside that breakfast, lunch and dinner box. i know many of us don't eat breakfast foods just for breakfast and supper left overs often fine their way to our first meal of the day. my choices and putting a meal plan together for you might not appeal to you however, if you can read the allowable food list for induction.
What foods can be eaten on Induction?

i will add this though... considering your height, your exercise and your current weight, i think you need not worry about 5 pounds. even in maintenance, atkins gives a leeway of 5 pounds to stay within.

Have you thought of getting some of those undergarments that hold everything in? They are supposed to make people a size or more smaller and might help you fit into your dress if that is the problem.

As for induction menus - you can eat anything on the allowed list of induction foods, so could have eggs, meat, fish or chicken with salad veggies and/or some cooked veggies in any combination you like.

There is no such thing as a 'breakfast' food on Atkins - eat what foods from the list at whatever time of day you like. We had one member who used to eat chilli for breakfast, and I only ever eat fried eggs and bacon for lunch!

I have just make a crustless quiche with eggs, cream, bacon, cooked cauliflower and cheese in it which makes 6 tasty grab'n'go breakfast slices and ensures I am eating fat, protein and carbs for that first meal of the day.

Really, it sounds like you are in very good health, weight wise.Unless you go near zero carb, it's going to be very hard to lose that 5 lbs.My wife is 5'5", 120 lbs and looks VERY lean.Sure you are being realistic about your size?

Question Re: Need Serious Help!! :-( (Atkins Fan)

Hey

Thanks for all the awesome replies. You guys are truly wonderful to give time and attention to my question. I truly believe that my body has got back to its realistic weight where it feels safe. But my goal weight where I wanna be is still under normal weight range. I hate to starve myself or else it would be very easy for me to loose with eating nothing at all. Even if I loose 5 lbs , I would still be a healthy weight for my body.
1 thing that I am trying now is stop eating after 7 pm!!
Is tht a good thing?

you should just do the induction if you really want to lose the five pounds... I'm 5ft tall myself and you are def at a healthy weight...my healthy bmi would be like 125 pounds so you seem pretty healthy to me...but like I said if the 5 pounds really bothers you do the induction sure it is hard at first but not being at the weight you want is alot harder to deal with imo...goodluck!

The not eating after 7 pm is a good thing for most everyone. Most eating after dinner and that late at night is done out of habit or boredom, not because you are truly hungry. That was what helped me the most to stay on track and be hungry in the morning for breakfast.

Your body does lots of things while you sleep and it does it better if it doesn't have to deal with digesting and metabolizing food. You should rest better and wake more refreshed.

I'm not sure where you figure you need and must loose that last 5 pounds... In fact I plugged it into a BMI calculator

So at 105 for being 5'3", you are 18.6... only .1 % of being underweight. With all the working out and muscle/strength training you are doing... how do you want to look lean and fit without bones sticking out... Stop the weight training, loose muscle, and feel like crap 24/7 if that is what you want to do..

Obviously you have other goals besides feeling healthy and fit!!! And if that is the case Atkins is not going to work for you.. Plan and simple.

THis board is full of supportive people but they only support those who want to be healthy and in great shape. It is your choice... You know what is more important to yourself... Healthy or Dangerously Skinny b/c of a number on the scale??? And for which ever one you want, you know what to do, so no need to ask, you can't have both!

Best of Luck and congrats on your engagement, I'm sure with 5 pounds extra or not, you will be a beautiful bride! Enjoy the moment!
