Kyla is on a distinguished road
Default I'm new and have a question...

I bought the Bryers Carb Smart vanilla ice cream. It claims on the from to only have 5g of net carbs per serving, but on the nutritional information it says there are 15g of carbs and 4g of fiber. How does that come out to 5g of net? I thought that you are supposed to subtract the fiber from the total carb count. Does anyone know how this works or if it is ok to eat this?? Thanks!!

The carb smart ice cream is not allowed on induction. It will be allowed on the dairy rung of OWL (ongoing weight loss).

Do you have a copy of the 2002 DANDR (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution) book and have you read it? If not you can get a copy pretty cheat on www.amazon.com or www.half.com

Here are some links that may help you. Just remember, during induction if the food isn't listed on the acceptable food list it's not a legal food.

Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
Filtered water
Mineral water
Spring water
Tap water

Crystal Lite, sugar free teas, sodas, latte’s, smoothies – don’t count – PURE water is the only thing that counts toward your daily water intake. Now is the time to make changes – stop using these products. If you need a “flavor” in your water float a lemon or lime slice on top of your water

Check the recipe sites also - they are very helpful and will help make your meals so much more enjoyable.

the other part of it is probably sugar alcohol, which presumably isnt metabolized like sugar

But those sugar alcohols can give you digestive disturbances and I now avoid the low carb ice creams because portion control is a problem for me
