| I can't figure it out - but I THINK it has something to do with the Rungs. If there are ingredients in the bar that is not listed on the induction group of foods, then it's a no, no, even though, like you, I got the strong impression that Dr. Atkins said they were O.K. from time-to-time. |

| It was advocated as an emergency food but Dr A always said that unprocessed real foods were the preference. Since they stall so many people, it is frowned on here because they generally cause a lot more trouble in the long run than eliminating them and eating real foods. |

| Also the ingredients were different in the original bars and shakes than what we have now.....if you check the ingredients of the bars there are so many non-induction ingredients listed ---

| The bar I bought last time did not say net carbs on the package. They said that the bar contained something they called 'atkins count" but they did not explain what the atkins count was.

| I think the bars are ridiculous.. I went to the store and took one look at the ingredients and put them back...in the older atkins books there were no such bars...shouldnt that be the plan that is followed..the more natural one? |

| It still goes to what your body can tolerate. My husband can eat nuts at random and have a scotch and water and still lose (of course, I do the cooking) but I can't. I can have an Atkins shake from time-to-time when I'm playing golf, but I don't even like the bars so I don't mess with 'em. Sure miss the old peanut butter/chocolate bar though. I ate them even before I started doing Atkins back in the day (sigh!) |
