Angry No weight loss...No inches...WTF??

Ooook. I've been doing induction (mostly. lol) for about a week and a half now....no weight loss....no loss in inches. I have cheated, but when I say "cheat" I mean, I may have have an Atkins Endulge Bar when I reeeally want something sweet. My ketostix show I am in full-on ketosis....though, by reading these posts, I can see it's probably because I need to drink more water ....and I've switched too Equal instead of Sweet n low....I know I haven't been REALLY good....but I think I deserve a little bit of weight loss for the commitment and effort I've put in! Are their any types of medications that could hinder weight loss?? I have pretty bad allergies and take a lot of Benadryl. Would that effect it? Please HELP! I'm getting ready to rip my hair out here!

I'm 5'9" and 230 lbs (could IMAGINE the shock on my face when I saw THAT number!) and would like to be back under 200...175 would be awesome.
I eat pretty randomly in small portions...6 times a day. When I wake up, I'll just kinda munch out on pepperoni (no carbs) about 6 oz...and then I was drinking nothing but iced tea (fully leaded with sweet n low) until I found out that aspartame is a no-no. so, now I use equal for the past couple days and also started drinking crystal light. But those random 6 times a day, I'd probably eat either pepperoni (6 oz), a few slices of white cheddar, a slice or two of turkey, a 6 oz steak of some sort, 2 scrambled eggs with cheese on it....any combonation of things of that sort.

You probably should concentrate on whole foods and clean unadulturated water.

Pepperoni may say no carb but I bet there is sugar in it if you read the label and it is loaded with salt.
Do not munch: Eat meals: Cook them and enjoy them and include your vegetables.
Stop drinking stuff with sugar (or artificial sugar) in them. (And remember only 3 serving of sweetener a day - in total - and believe me that is hardly any sweetener )

From this I am not sure what you are having for lunch (I hope it is not pepperoni again ) Have lunch - eat veggies - include fats
Steak is good but you need three cups of veggies every day.
Only 3-4 oz of cheese and that is max

Oh I mentioned clean water and veggies, did I?
I think you get the picture.

Hang in there. All of us have some adjustments to do on induction. It will all get sorted out. Stick to the rules. Keep it going

You really need to read the book and follow it so you know what you're doing. Equal isn't allowed - it has aspartame in it like the sweet 'n low does. The book says to use Splenda which has no aspartame.

I see alot of processed meat (pepperoni) but no vegetables -- your carbs are suppose to come mostly from vegetables spread out throughout the day. Cheese is limited to 3 - 4 ounces per day -- how many ounces in "a few slices"???

I also see no pure water, only tea and crystal light -- crystal light is nothing but chemicals so you aren't doing your body any favors with that. The book says:

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water each day, including:
Filtered water
Mineral water
Spring water
Tap water

What exercise routine are you doing? Once you get on plan you will be seeing progress.

Hi there,
Welcome to Atkins and ADBB
I agree with the ladies.
Nothing replaces water. WATER, WATER, WATER! That darn crystal light contains aspartame. Which will stall weightloss.
You should be getting the majority of your carb intake from veggies-
If you are doing Induction, you are to eat a minimum of 12 NET carbs of veggies each day.
It is so important to read food ingrediants. There are so many hidden sugars these days in processed foods, it's not even funny. HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) is a huge one they like to sneak in.
Also they like to put potato starch in packaged shredded cheese to preseve it and to help it from sticking together. MSG is another one to look for on the ingrediants of foods. All no no's.
Fresh is best! Making all your meals from fresh foods will certainly guarantee weightloss.
Caffeine will also stall weightloss in some people. It also will cause glucose levels to be imbalanced causing cravings in some folks. Something to concider. Not saying that you have cravings, just something to watch out for.
I don't know if benadryl would conflict with weightloss or not. I don't get allergies. I do know that Atkins will help aid you with your allergies though. Maybe someone else will chime in on that.
I like to spread my veggies out throughout the day, starting with breakfast. It will help you to get all of them in. Veggies are a must.
Pepperoni packs quite a sodium puch. So be carefull with that. It may cause you to retain water. Without drinking alot of water to flush your system, you'll retain it. In turn, show up on the scale and or tape measure.
I agree, you do deserve to be rewarded with weight and inches lost. You just may need to tweak a few things and then you'll be sure to be rewarded. Stick with it! You are worth it!
