| No alcohol until rung 5, I see you are still on induction. What I do when I go out to parties or what ever is have diet cokes and water, maybe even a sugar free redbull. I'm sure no one will notice if you arn't drinking. Offer to be the "Bob" as the dutch all it. The one who doesn't drink and makes sure everyone stays safe.

| How about ice water in a Tom Collins glass, or in a martini glass with olives. Alcohol isn't allowed until Rung 5 - then it is limited. You've been on plan 3 days and are asking permission to cheat --- why didn't you just wait an extra week to start since you knew you were going to this party. Make up your mind which is more important, showing your friends you can drink along with them, or getting your health in order. You need to find out what your priorities are.

| I know what you mean - it would be incredibly hard and awkward NOT to drink on a stag weekend (saying you are on a low-carb diet would be like putting a target on yourself), but alcohol, even the lower-carb stuff has a really huge impact on blood sugar levels, so that, even though they may not in themselves make you gain weight, they would almost certainly make you crave sugary 'comfort' foods the next day. My friends are certainly all stoked that I am always offering to drive now...

| It has never been hard for me not to drink. If you want to stay on plan just don't drink. Have something else. Diet Coke, ice water anything without sugar. |

| With all due respect to the last 2 posters, there is a world of difference between the normal happenings of a young British lad on a stag weekend, and two married (?) women, one of whom already admits that she doesn't have any problem not drinking! Though I absolutely agree that staying off the drink is the best solution, I sympathise, and know it will be difficult. (And just because someone admits that they will have problems not drinking on what is essentially a weekend designed almost solely for getting drunk and debauched, it does not mean that they have a problem in general with alcohol!)

| ha ha I just recommended someone drink Vodka and try to stay sober. Realistically, if Atkins is doing its thing they probably wont WANT to drink that much. Just get strictly back on track the net day. You'll probably be fine.
