| Net carbs are the carbohydrates subtracted from the amount of fiber in the food. Suppose you are eating a CHO based food that is 7 grams carbohydrate and 4 grams fiber. The net carbs are thus (7-4)=3 grams net. The sugars added are usually high fructose and or corn syrup. Those sugars are really nasty. Remember, carbohydrates are sugars.
