| We fall out of ketosis when we eat a certain number of carbs - for most people that is around 50 - Do you have sticks? You just have to test this on yourself and see what it takes. Good luck on your exam.

Nicole, I would think that if you added some of the higher rung foods such as beans/legumes, starchy veggies and whole grains (some oat porridge or some whole grain bread) that would do the job right quick until after your test is over. I'm not sure where you would pick up after the test though (re-do Induction or go back to where you were on OWL?). Those are my thoughts anyways. It's easy to get out of ketosis...just thought using good foods to do it would be a better way. I would use FitDay to track you foods precisely to make sure your carbs are high during that time too. Good luck on your test!

| Getting our of ketosis and CCLL is not directly related. Most of us lose weight without being in ketosis when we OWL.

| You wouldn't have to eat junk, like cake and ice cream--you would just have to eat some higher carb fruits and veggies (sweet potatoes/baked potato) and lower your fat intake. Ketosis is the result of high fat intake to low carb intake ratios. Maybe eat some whole grain breads. Just higher carbs, but healthy carbs, or you will make yourself sick. Good luck!

| Wouldn't they make an exception if you told them you were on the keto diet? I'd imagine they'd understand. Though I'm sure your trying to play it safe I'm sure. |

I figure I'll start the OWL rungs during November, after I reach a certain, personal goal.

| Thanks for all your replies! I think for a few days before [haven't got the date just yet, but it will be soon] I'll move to high-carb [but still healthy] foods - perhaps a maintenance-style diet for a few days? And Empyre, unfortunately I doubt they'd make an exception - there's still a lot of "Ohh no, Atkins = bad" things going around, and the heavily government-controlled doctors [the ones who will be assessing me] unfortunately have to follow their guidelines. Hopefully one day the medical world will come around to our way of thinking! Thanks for the advice guys, you're all really helpful and supportive, for which I am very grateful.
